Particularly bold: with a small child in their arms, a suspicious couple in Villach begged two helpful victims. Everything was stolen from them in Italy. The “borrowed” money for the hotel and tickets is gone.
The two suspects, probably from Germany, told their victims a truly tragic story on the street: during their holiday in Italy, thieves stole everything from them near Udine. Now they are completely destitute and stranded in Villach with their hungry child (who is reportedly about seven months old).
Hotel room paid including food
The helpful passers-by (21 and 27 years old) felt sorry for the toddler – and so they were persuaded to help the young family: they paid for a hotel room for the suspected fraud couple, including food and drinks – and also lent them both 200 euros in cash for tickets to Germany.
False transfer
A family member would immediately transfer the “made up” amount of 400 euros in total. And a few hours later, the gullible victims actually received an email with a photo of a receipt – proof of the transfer that had supposedly taken place. But the money never reached the victims’ accounts. The investigation is progressing quickly.
