The police officers who were called to a shopping center in Lindau on Lake Constance in Bavaria on Monday evening due to a shoplifting incident were quite surprised. The perpetrators are a very young trio between eleven and fifteen years old. The eleven-year-old is reported missing in Vorarlberg.
Around 6 p.m. on Monday, the Lindau Police Station was informed by a drugstore employee in Lindau Park that three young shoplifters had been caught stealing. When they arrived at the shopping center, which is also very popular with Vorarlberg residents, the officers found three children and young people between the ages of eleven and fifteen.
Toy gun plus ammo
During the search, the officers found high-quality perfumes in the youngest’s pocket. They discovered a toy gun with two packs of ammunition on one of the 15-year-olds. According to the police, the total value of the stolen goods was approximately 260 euros.
Transfer to the Vorarlberg police
When checking the 11-year-old’s personal information, officials discovered that he had been kidnapped from a youth facility in Austria. The officers therefore took him into custody and, after consultation with the police in Lochau, handed him over to the Vorarlberg police at the Ziegelhaus border crossing.
Long-term stay-at-home orders
Officers launched a shoplifting investigation against all three, and officers also notified their legal guardians. The shopping center also issued a long-term entry ban.
