Anita Aranyosi has been waiting for her climate bonus since the middle of last year. The 31-year-old accountant has not received a tax return this year either. The mother of two children has been living and working in Lambach for fourteen years and meets all the requirements for the climate bonus.
At the request of the “Krone”, the responsible climate ministry confirmed that the money had been transferred – albeit to an unknown account. “I only have one account and so far everything has gone there: child benefits, parental leave benefits, even the climate bonuses for my two small children,” says Anita Aranyosi. Only her own bonus payments went into this mysterious account. It is unclear how this ended up in the system.
Always procrastinate
The first proposed solution from the ministry: Ms. Aranyosi should contact the responsible authority via the contact form. “I have completed and sent this exact form countless times,” sighs the self-employed person. “I was then put off or told that the application had not been received!” She’s going to try again.
A new trail now leads to the savings bank: that is where the mysterious account is located. A customer service representative couldn’t remember because: the ‘phantom account’ didn’t belong to anyone! When asked by the “Krone”, Sparkasse referred Oberösterreich to its ombudsman, and a spokesperson for the Ministry of Climate stated that it would investigate the matter.
