Tyrol-Bavaria border – Five Syrians stopped after a wild chase

Date:

Scenes like something out of an action movie took place in the vicinity of the Achen Pass during the night from Thursday to Friday: a vehicle had ignored a stop by the German Federal Police in neighboring Bavaria and fled at high speed to Austria. It took two roadblocks to stop this.

On Thursday at 10:34 p.m., the German Federal Police reported that a car in Germany had ignored a stop in the Sylvenstein reservoir area and fled towards Austria at far too high speed. A few minutes later, the German Federal Police patrol passed the Achenwald border crossing and continued the pursuit south on the B 181 Achensee federal road.

The Tyrolean police set up a roadblock
A roadblock was immediately set up at km 4.26 with several Austrian police patrols. The driver of the fleeing vehicle braked sharply, three people jumped out of the car and fled in different directions, but were quickly arrested.

The driver turned around and sped away
The driver turned the vehicle around and fled back towards Germany. In the meantime, another roadblock has been set up at km 5.85. The fleeing car eventually stopped in front of the barrier. Two people fled on foot, but were stopped and arrested not far from the barrier around midnight with the support of two service dog patrols and a drone

Five Syrians arrested
All five people have Syrian nationality. According to current information, no one was injured. Commercial vehicles were not damaged. More studies will follow.
