Due to microsleep – Tyrol: German family flew off the road on the A12

Date:

Spectacular accident on the Inntal Autobahn Friday evening! Shortly before the Radfeld checkpoint (Kufstein district), the car of a German (46) hit the concrete foundation of a display board at high speed. The six German passengers were injured, including four children.

A family’s car was parked on the A12 at the Radfeld checkpoint shortly before 7 p.m. Probably due to micro-sleep, the family of six’s vehicle veered off the right side of the road and collided head-on with a concrete pole on a traffic structure. The vehicle then turned and came to a stop on the embankment.

Fire brigade quickly arrived on scene
As a result of an exercise by the fire brigade’s ambulance personnel, many Florianis stayed in the equipment house in Kramsach. “As a result, the first fully occupied vehicle was able to leave less than two minutes after the alarm went off,” says the Kramsach Volunteer Fire Department. When emergency services arrived at the scene of the accident, the parents and three children were already out of the vehicle.

The driving father (46) and the mother (41) in the passenger seat were seriously injured, as were the four children in the back seat (aged between six and 16 years old) and were taken to the Kufstein district hospital after initial treatment. The car was total. During the recording of the accident, the first lane was closed for more than an hour and a half.
