The preliminary agreement, which must be approved by Landaben’s staff, provides, among other things, for salary increases according to the CPI for the next three years.
The management of Volkswagen Navarra and the union majority, consisting of UGT (13 representatives) and CCOO (8), representing 67.7% of the works council, have reached agreement on the 10th collective labor agreement.
The other union forces with representation, ELA (5), LAB (3) and CGT (2), have rejected the text, as reported by the automotive multinational in a statement, indicating that this preliminary agreement must be endorsed in a referendum next week by Landaben factory staff. The agreement then applies until December 31, 2026.
The preliminary agreement includes, among other things: salary increases according to the CPI for the next three years and “non-traumatic exits” for the 400 employees affected by Volkswagen’s electrification and the production decline until 2026. In this regard, incentivized departures and voluntary leave will be promoted for people over 60 years old. Moreover, they agreed additional payments of 900 euros until 2026 and general sick leave will again be managed by the public health system.
The labor relations manager of Volkswagen NavarraJesús Galindo Parejo has rated the preliminary agreement very positively and is “convinced that the staff will positively appreciate the text because it is a good preliminary agreement for the employees.” “The preliminary agreement includes guarantees of employment, purchasing power and future,” he claimed.
The chairman of works council memberAlfredo Morales (UGT) has also expressed his satisfaction with the agreement, because in his opinion it guarantees employment, purchasing power and investments.
