Of all people, a social worker (33) allowed himself to do something completely crazy with his regular client. Now the man had to appear before the Innsbruck Regional Court for dangerous threats and sexual harassment.
The suspect has argued that he just wanted to “cheer up” his client and that he “had some fun” with the lighter and the statement. At first he didn’t want to remember the exact wording. “I may have said I wanted to set her sweater or her chest on fire,” he finally admitted at the LG Innsbruck.
Official raised the alarm
The criminal proceedings were initiated by an official who observed the situation on June 11. “I was shocked,” said the student witness. He clearly saw the 33-year-old touch the woman’s breast and said he wanted to set it on fire. “I didn’t get the impression that the woman found it funny,” he emphasized.
The judge ultimately decided to convict on the second count, sexual harassment. In case of doubt, the dangerous threat cannot be clearly proven. The Syrian-born Austrian was fined 2,000 euros – half of which was conditional – for sexual harassment. The judgment is not final.
