A four-year-old local child had a somewhat lucky escape after being attacked by a dog in Kolsass on Saturday afternoon. It had to be treated as an outpatient in the clinic.
The incident took place shortly before 2 p.m. on the sports field in the municipality of Unterländer. According to information from the police, a female Bavarian mountain jersey lay between the rows of stands on the sports field within easy reach of her owner. The four-year-old approached the dog, leaned over the animal, which was apparently scared, and then snapped. It hit the child in the face.
Injury under the left eye
The emergency services quickly provided first aid on site and the four-year-old was subsequently treated as an outpatient at the clinic in Innsbruck. The girl suffered injuries to her upper lip and below her left eye during the incident.
Report to the public prosecutor
The local dog owner (42) has the animal examined by a veterinarian and reports are sent to the Public Prosecution Service and the BH.
