An accident near Schwechat (Bruck ad Leitha district) on the Vienna-bound lane of the eastern motorway (A4) caused significant traffic disruption in the early morning on Monday. ÖAMTC spokesperson Marc Römer reported almost ten kilometers of traffic jams. The time loss was approximately one hour. The A4 was completely closed for about 30 minutes.
According to the spokesperson, the accident took place between Vienna Airport and the Schwechat interchange at around 6:30 am. There was another collision in the backfield. This caused a traffic jam not only on the A4, but also on the alternative route via the B9.
