At the start of the autumn holidays, huge traffic jams are again expected throughout Austria. Asfinag expects that the Tauernautobahn, Innkreisautobahn and Ostautobahn in particular will be traffic hotspots.
With the national holiday on Thursday and the autumn holidays starting with it, domestic highway operator Asfinag expects a significantly increased traffic volume on domestic transit routes. The situation is made worse by the fact that the holidays also start on Friday in the German states of Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, Asfinag announced in a broadcast on Wednesday.
Tunnel construction sites on the A10
Significantly more traffic can be expected on the traditional transit routes towards the south and east from Saturday at the latest. The hotspots should be the A10 (Tauernautobahn), the A8 (Innkreisautobahn) and the A4 (Ostautobahn). Asfinag expects delays, especially in the area of the tunnel construction sites on the A10 Tussenwerfen and Golling and around the metropolitan areas of Vienna, Linz and Graz.
The Europa League match Sturm Graz against Atalanta Bergamo will take place in Graz on Thursday from 6.45 pm. The game is sold out. Increased traffic around the stadium in Liebenau and on the access road of the Graz-Ost motorway must therefore be taken into account.
