After the attack on Tyrolean entrepreneur Martin Thaler with a metal plate in a corn field on October 8, the victim feels safe: “In the event of a new attack, the perpetrator would expose himself!”
As is known, Thaler and his employee narrowly avoided a catastrophe in Radfeld (Kufstein district) more than two weeks ago. Just like last year and in 2018, an unknown person had attached a stainless steel sign to a corn plant. The contractor’s chipper crushed the plate and the metal parts almost hit Thaler’s employees.
The Alpbachtaler then offered a ‘bounty’ of 10,000 euros on social media for useful information. “Unfortunately, no one has come forward with good information,” the Unterlander regrets.
The state police department is investigating metal parts
Meanwhile, the metal fragments are at the state police station to search for clues. “However, there are no results yet,” said David Pacher, deputy police commander in Kramsach.
Of course, Thaler thinks he knows who is behind the highly criminal attacks. “I just don’t have any proof,” he says. Thaler is certain that all three cases involved the same perpetrator. “Because he always used the same material and the same electrical tape in the cowardly attacks.”
Three attacks, 100,000 euros in damage
The perpetrator not only endangered the lives of the Tyrolean and his employee, but also caused enormous material damage. The repair of the chipper costs about 30,000 euros, the insurance does not cover the costs. “The three attacks cost me a total of around 100,000 euros,” say the Unterländer.
“The noose is getting tighter”
However, the Unterländer rules out that the perpetrator will strike again at the end of the season. “That would finally expose him,” he believes. The contractor obviously does not want to say more.
For Thaler, one thing is certain: “The noose around the man is getting tighter and tighter!”
