Surveys questionable? – Wagenknecht’s party is currently having difficulty gaining access

Date:

With a lot of momentum from various studies, the founding of the party by former left-wing politician Sahra Wagenknecht began in Germany. The head of the German opinion research institute Forsa cannot understand the euphoria in the surveys. He described the latest result on Monday as “absolutely adventurous”.

Forsa boss Manfred Güllner currently sees the planned new party of former left-wing politician Sahra Wagenknecht “well” below the five percent threshold for entry into parliament, he explained to the newspapers of the editorial network Germany on Wednesday.

Potentially overrated?
Wagenknecht announced on Monday in Berlin that he was setting up a new party. The Forsa boss does not estimate their potential to win AfD and CDU voters as particularly high.

“According to our findings, Wagenknecht could attract a small share of former left-wing voters and gain only a few votes from the AfD.” It must be taken into account that the AfD captures a large part of the right-wing radical potential. that has always existed in Germany.

For the vast majority, a new party is out of the question
The pollster pointed out that the collective movement ‘Get Up’, launched by Wagenknecht in 2018, ‘failed miserably’ after a relatively short time. He advised the CDU in the East “not to think too tactically” about Wagenknecht and possible alliance capabilities, but rather to focus on the great potential of non-voters. There are more of them in the East than AfD voters.

In a Forsa survey published on Tuesday for the broadcasters RTL and ntv, only three percent said they would “definitely” vote for a Wagenknecht party. 17 percent would ‘maybe’ vote for her. However, for the large majority of 74 percent, choosing such a party would be out of the question.
