An alcoholic Croatian probationary driver’s license holder left a trail of destruction during a frenzied drive at 190 km/h through the Gunskirchen area (Upper Austria). He filmed himself with his mobile phone, crashing into a transformer station and rolling over several times. The driver and his passenger (20) survived with injuries.
Around 4:19 a.m. the two Welsers ran through the Gunskirchen area. The 19-year-old driver made a Snapchat video (a free instant messaging service) of his ride with his cell phone. He lost control of his car and went off the road.
Transport facilities demolished
The car crashed into a tram stop, breaking a research stone, two guide posts and a ‘Attention children’ danger sign in the adjacent field. The car then rolled over several times, hit a digital speedometer (“You’re driving…”) and landed back on its wheels near the hedge next to a residential building. The car only had scrap value.
Mobile phone secured
According to the police, the total material damage is enormous. The Croatian driver and his passenger (a 20-year-old with Croatian roots) were transported to Kinikum Wels by the Red Cross. An alcohol test on the 19-year-old was positive. His mobile phone, with the recordings of the wild madness, was confiscated. Reports to the Public Prosecution Service in Wels and the BH Wels-Land will follow.
