According to police, about 700 participants took to the streets during a Palestinian demonstration in Bregenz on Saturday afternoon. According to police, the demonstration was ‘loud but peaceful’. The slogan of the demonstration was ‘Freedom for Palestine’. According to Vorarlberg Online (vol.at), participants chanted “Free Free Palestine” and waved Palestinian flags and signs with slogans such as “Stop the GENOCIDE” or “Stop the killing of children”.
Recently, a social media post from SJ Vorarlberg caused a stir. In its post, which was sharply criticized by all parties, the SJV complained about a brutal war against the entire Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip and expressed solidarity with the Palestinians. The Vorarlberg SPÖ also considered expelling the responsible officials from the party and freezing its funding.
