In recent days, residents of the village of Fuschl am See have increasingly complained about yellowish drinking water. Mayor Christian Braunstein (ÖVP) not really handsome, but harmless to health.
So – driven humin substances are responsible for the discoloration of the water – ie organic substances that occur in natural environments. Especially in the case of heavy rainfall after longer dry phases, they would not be fully bound in the water treatment plant.
“Together with experts for investment technology and a renowned company of the water technology area, we are working on solutions here,” assures Mayor Braunstein. As a further measure, it is currently being drilled according to new sources.
The water of the municipality of Fuschl am See is currently from sources in the water protection area and from the Karst area of the Eibenssebach. Not the first time that Fuschl had to fight with discolored drinking water.
Already in the summer of 2024 brown caused discolored tap water unrest. Even then there were no health problems.
