As the CHMU Weather Service announced, winds reached top speeds of up to 130 km/h.
Fallen trees damaged cars and blocked road and rail connections. The cleanup work would last all Saturday, a fire department spokesperson said.
Tent camp for Ukrainian refugees damaged
The storm damaged a tent camp set up for refugees from Ukraine in Prague’s Troja district. Some of the people housed there had to be taken to safety by bus.
Injuries were initially not reported from the Czech Republic.
