‘Abu’ is probably Britain’s largest dog: Redcar’s Turkish shepherd weighs over 250 pounds (114 kilograms) and food costs owner Dylan Shaw a small fortune.
According to his owner from Redcar, North Yorkshire, this four-legged friend is the “largest dog in Britain”. Standing on its hind legs, the dog is approximately 2.1 meters tall. Dylan Shaw got the puppy in November 2021 – and “Abu” is far from fully grown, according to the 33-year-old.
‘Abu’ eats three kilos of meat every day
Today, the Turkish Shepherd Dog weighs more than 114 kilograms, as much as a baby elephant. Koloss devours about three pounds of meat every day. A typical daily menu consists of one whole chicken, three whole mackerel, two eggs and raw dog food. Shaw spends the equivalent of €4,600 a year on ‘Abu’s’ food.
