Terrible accident on All Saints’ Day: A 34-year-old was driving a panel van on the L14 in Kirchberg am Wagram (Tulln district) on Wednesday and had a fatal accident.
The 34-year-old local man’s vehicle first hit the roadside and then skidded. As a result, the vehicle overturned, slid on the asphalt and eventually fell over an embankment, the Lower Austria State Police Directorate reported on Thursday.
Seriously injured man rescued by passers-by
A similar accident took place on Wednesday evening in Zelking-Matzleinsdorf in the Melk district. There, a 49-year-old drove his car off the B215, after which the car rolled down an embankment. Passers-by freed the seriously injured man, who was flown by emergency helicopter to St. Pölten University Hospital.
