Unlucky shot Saturday morning in Eggerding. An 83-year-old hunter wanted to shoot a brown hare, but hit a younger colleague in the face and thigh. The injured man was flown to hospital by helicopter, but his life is not in danger.
An 83-year-old hunter from St. Marienkirchen near Schärding took part in a hunt in Eggerding on Saturday. When a brown hare ran out of the forest around 9.25 am, he fired a shot from the edge of the forest with his double rifle. He encountered a 50-year-old from Mayrhof who was standing about 73 meters away from the shooter. After receiving emergency medical treatment, the 50-year-old was flown by rescue helicopter to Ried im Innkreis hospital with injuries of an undetermined nature.
