“Cynical use” – Israel: Hamas abuses hospitals in Gaza

Date:

The Israeli military has provided new information showing that Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip, is using civilian infrastructure for military purposes. Videos, audio recordings and satellite images would provide further evidence of how the terrorist organization Hamas is hiding its positions near health facilities, military spokesman Daniel Hagari said on Sunday. Hamas immediately rejected the accusations.

According to the video footage presented, the Qatar-funded Sheikh Hamad Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip is said to be directly connected to Hamas’ tunnel network. A tunnel shaft has been placed right next to the building, Hagari says about the recordings. There are also indications that Israeli ground troops have been released from the hospital. The information could not be independently verified at this time.

Criticism: “Cynical use of hospitals”
The Indonesian hospital in the Gaza Strip is also said to be surrounded by Hamas military infrastructure. “Hamas systematically built the Indonesian hospital to hide the underground terror infrastructure,” Hagari said. A Hamas rocket launch site is 75 meters from this hospital. “They know very well that if Israel launches an airstrike on this launch site, the hospital will be damaged,” said Hagari, condemning Hamas’s “cynical use of hospitals.”

“Hamas places troops and weapons in, under and around schools, mosques, homes and UN facilities,” the army spokesman emphasized. “One of Hamas’s worst war crimes is its use of hospitals to hide its terrorist infrastructure.”

Hamas would steal gas from hospitals
He again accused Hamas of preventing civilians from reaching the south of the Gaza Strip, despite intensive warnings from Israel. According to Hagari, Israel has already distributed 1.5 million warning leaflets across Gaza, distributed about six million recorded messages and called 20,000 people. The spokesperson also provided a recording purporting to prove that Hamas is withholding fuel from hospitals. This information is not yet independently verifiable.

The Israeli military is regularly blamed, especially by the WHO and the United Nations, for bombings of or near health facilities in the Gaza Strip, where large numbers of civilians reside.

Terrorist organization invites “international commission of inquiry”.
Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip, has repeatedly rejected Israel’s allegations. On Sunday evening it was decided to organize an “international commission of inquiry” to inspect the hospitals and ensure that they are not used for military purposes. A Hamas spokesman said several hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip were attacked again by Israel on Sunday evening.
