“Anyone who vengefully degrades a flag of a foreign state in such a manner that the act becomes known to the general public shall be punished with imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or a fine not exceeding 360 daily rates” – this is paragraph 317 of the Austrian Criminal Code, which punishes, for example, the breaking, cutting or burning of flags.
