In Russia, 19 wagons of a freight train may have derailed due to sabotage in the Ryazan region south of Moscow. The driver and his assistant were slightly injured. According to investigators, the accident was the result of sabotage.
An “unauthorized influence” from outside on rail transport was the reason for the incident. No details were given. So there was no impact on the passenger trains or on the environment.
Zug had loaded fertilizer
Before the wagons derailed, an explosion sound was reportedly heard, as could be read on social networks. In contrast to the railway, researchers spoke of only 15 derailed wagons. The train is said to have transported fertilizer, among other things.
Since Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine began more than 20 months ago, there have been repeated sabotages on railway lines. Railway partisans in several parts of the country tried to stop the rail transport of military supplies for Moscow’s forces in Ukraine.
There were incidents due to explosions and manipulation of railway lines. The domestic secret service FSB has repeatedly reported on the arrests of suspects in the past.
