A man caused fear and panic among several passers-by in Vienna-Floridsdorf on Saturday evening. The 61-year-old is said to have walked through the streets with a machete and attacked people. A coffee house owner barely managed to avoid the suspect.
According to statements by the 34-year-old coffee house owner, the suspect had recently been to his coffee house, was already cursing wildly when he entered the restaurant and suddenly pulled out his weapon. The 34-year-old had to dodge the 61-year-old several times to avoid being hit by the machete. The suspect also allegedly threatened to kill him.
Weapon discovered in the bushes
After the incident, the man left the restaurant and went out to threaten other passers-by on the street with his weapon, Vienna police said.
