A Syrian (24) caused a fire brigade operation in Spittal an der Drau on Sunday evening. He heated his apartment with an open fire and used a gas cylinder.
A 37-year-old tenant noticed a flame through the window in an apartment in the Spittal apartment complex on Sunday evening and called the fire brigade. When emergency services arrived at the apartment in question, they saw a strange scene.
20 centimeter high flame
The tenant, a 24-year-old Syrian, heated his apartment with a gas bottle. “A flame about 8 inches high flared out. “He stated that he was not aware of the existing danger,” police said.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. No damage was done either. The Spittal, Seeboden and St. Peter fire brigades had approximately 40 men on duty.
