A major fire broke out in a house in Villach on Monday evening. The reason is probably the aquarium.
Shortly after 1 a.m., sirens sounded in Draustadt. A fire broke out in the living room of a house in the Völkendorf district of Villach. “The fire was likely caused by a defect in the aquarium’s electrical system, which caused plastic parts to melt and the aquarium to crack,” police said.
Residents fled outside
Fortunately, the homeowner and the two tenants were able to escape outside in time, so no one was injured. “The fire was extinguished quickly. The smoke and fire damage is limited to the living room,” says Martin Regenfelder, deputy commander of the Villach main fire station. However, this was hit hard. The resulting material damage is not yet known.
Large contingent of emergency services
The Villach main fire station and the volunteer fire brigades of Völkendorf and Judendorf were deployed with a total of 30 men and six vehicles.
