Five bodies were found following a fire in Hounslow, west London, on Sunday evening. There are probably five members of the same family. A sixth person is missing.
Rescuers were called to a burning house in the Hounslow area on Sunday evening. “All five are believed to be members of the same family,” London police said.
The ground floor and first floor of the middle terraced house were destroyed by the fire and part of the roof was also damaged. Five people who were on the first floor of the building were pronounced dead at the scene. One person had left the building before emergency services arrived. She was taken to a hospital.
“Terrible sad incident”
“This is a terribly sad incident,” said Andy Roe of the local fire brigade. Your thoughts are with the family, friends and everyone affected at this difficult time. About seventy firefighters were present. The cause of the fire was currently unclear.
