“Legally possible” – woman falls over – dentist pays for fainting

Date:

The next health risk: Anyone who falls over in the office has to pay – at least at the dentist. One patient was charged with “assisting loss of consciousness.”

If you black out during your visit to the doctor, first aid is not only very professional, but also free. You would think so.

A woman on the Ö3 radio of a dental practice describes something strange: ‘I stood up and a few seconds later I fell over in the hallway of the office.’ When she came to, she was lying on the treatment chair with ice packs on her head. So far so good. But the big ending came a week later: a bill hit her house!

Offsetting items has been allowed for years
28 euros, ten cents stood for ‘help with fainting’. The dental association does not want to accept your objection that it is in accordance with the Hippocratic oath to help people in need. For 50 years, ‘drill doctors’ have been allowed to officially charge for this item. Kristine Rosner from ÖZÄK: “This is legally possible and permitted.”

Minister emotional: ‘I am a former cancer patient’
The ‘Krone’ report on savings plans for cancer treatment is also causing a stir. While the FPÖ talks about “coldness” and a “dying committee”, Health Minister Johannes Rauch emotionally defends himself.

“It is absurd to believe that as a former cancer patient I would deprive other patients of essential medication!” It is also absurd “if doctors who were not involved in the negotiations now label this as a ‘life-threatening situation’. ” Rather, the evaluation committee’s goal is better access to treatment.
