Murder alert in Vienna-Margareten: According to the police, a man (46) was found dead in an apartment on Tuesday shortly before midnight. Negligence by third parties cannot be excluded. The victim had injuries to his neck and a finger.
The 46-year-old victim is said to have spent the night in his second home with an acquaintance (53). When the 53-year-old wanted to check everything that evening, he could not unlock the apartment.
The man lay dead in bed
The acquaintance did not respond to phone calls or knocks on the apartment door – the police were alerted. Because the emergency services initially assumed that there had been an accident, the apartment was opened by the Vienna Fire Department. The man was found dead in bed; resuscitation measures were futile.
The victim suffered injuries to his neck
“Injuries to the neck and a finger were found. The cause of death is still completely unclear. Negligence by third parties cannot be ruled out at this time,” the Vienna State Police Directorate reported on Wednesday. A forensic autopsy was suggested. The investigation is ongoing.
