Pretrial detention extended – bloody crime in Tyrol: suspect remains silent

Date:

After the devastating violent crime in Tyrol’s Fieberbrunn (Kitzbühel district) at the end of October, in which a 54-year-old local man was killed, the arrested suspect (45) is still keeping quiet. The investigation continues. The pre-trial detention was extended.

The local man is suspected of killing his 54-year-old friend with multiple stab wounds to the neck on the evening of October 30. During the first interrogation, he did not want to give any information about the case in the presence of his lawyer. Nothing has changed in this regard so far. The alleged perpetrator remains silent.

The pre-trial detention was extended until mid-December
On Wednesday, the 45-year-old suspect’s pre-trial detention at the Innsbruck Regional Court was extended until December 15. The decision was made due to the risk of committing a criminal offense, state court spokeswoman Birgit Fink told the APA. The prosecution and defense stated that they would waive their right to appeal.

Further guesswork about the motive for the crime
The motive for the bloody crime is still unclear. A heated argument may have taken place between the men while they were drunk. It was not possible to interrogate the suspect immediately after the arrest “due to a disability, probably caused by alcohol and/or addictive substances,” the LKA Tirol investigators said at the time.

Parents of suspect found dead
The 54-year-old victim was found lifeless with stab wounds to the neck in the suspect’s apartment. The parents of the suspected perpetrator discovered the dead man and immediately raised the alarm. Apparently they checked their son’s apartment after he didn’t show up for work.
