A data breach has occurred in the ticket system, which handles questions and complaints about the climate bonus at the Ministry of Climate Protection. 72 people were affected and the bug has been fixed.
Due to an application error, data from a total of 72 people was unintentionally sent to the email addresses of two external people.
The leak also contained sensitive data for 29 people, such as copies of ID cards, bank details or ID cards for the disabled.
“Know how the error occurred”
“We regret the incident and take it very seriously. We know how the error occurred and were able to resolve it quickly. We are currently informing those affected by telephone and in writing about the incident,” says Wolfgang Otter, head of the climate bonus team at the ministry.
Incident reported to the data protection authority
The ministry also reported the incident to the data protection authority. The two individuals to whom the data had been incorrectly passed on were contacted and an agreement was reached for deletion. The removal has already been confirmed in writing.
