Ten years ago, in December 2013, Oscar winner Maximilian Schell gave his name to the “Bildungswelt” as patron. Now his name must be removed again. The allegations of abuse weigh heavily on the city council.
Oscar winner Maximilian Schell is accused of abuse by his niece and his own daughter nine years after his death! This set the Wolfsberg city council in motion on Thursday.
The “Bildungswelt Schell” will now be called “Bildungswelt Wolfsberg”, as the “Krone” has already reported.
“Protection of children”
The school community association also voted. Chairman and SP municipal councilor Klaus Penz: “If there is such a strong suspicion, we must take action to protect the children.” Paper and stamps are also interchanged neutrally at kindergartens and primary schools.
Green councilor Michael Hirzbauer: “Even if the presumption of innocence remains, we must believe the victims.”
With the exception of two members of the Freedom Party, all council members voted in favor. Daniel Megymoric (FP): “We point out that despite allegations, none of Schell’s 38 awards have been revoked.”
The changes must happen quickly. GR-Waltraud Beranek (VP): “Schell is before a higher court.”
