Seriously injured cat found in Teesdorf in the Baden district. An operation thanks to donations from animal lovers saved “Mitzi”’s life.
Severely hypothermic, half-starved and seriously injured: an apparently stray cat was found in Teesdorf in the Baden district and taken to the local veterinary center. The first examination there revealed a splinter fracture on one of the front legs.
Call for donations for surgery
Because the cat apparently had no owner, there were no financial resources for the urgently needed operation. A call for donations was therefore launched on the Internet, which did not go unheard: sufficient money was raised within a very short time.
On the operating table, the vet’s initial suspicions were confirmed: metal splinters from a projectile were found in the cat’s forelimb. This made it clear: “Mitzi” – as the foundling is now called in the animal center – had been shot with a gun.
Advice sought
The crime probably took place at the end of October or the beginning of this month near the main street in Teesdorf. Rescue workers at the animal center have filed a report and are offering a reward for information leading to the identification of the shooter.
