It was dark and raining: A 21-year-old driver probably lost control of his vehicle on the Innkreis highway near Krenglbach on Sunday evening due to aquaplaning. The car with three occupants overturned and came to rest on its roof.
Water on the road may have been the reason for the night-time accident: near Krenglbach the driver (21) lost control of his black car around 4:30 am, left the road, rolled over the dike and ended up on its roof.
Fortunately, the driver and the two other 20-year-old passengers (all from Lower Austria) were able to free themselves from the wreck and, according to their own statements, were unharmed. The rescue team took her to the hospital in Wels for examination.
A8 partially closed
The fire brigade removed branches and the car itself was recovered by a towing company. Due to the cleaning work, the Innkreis highway was only passable in one lane for about 45 minutes between Pichl near Wels and the Wels junction.
