Immediately after the report, the police started an investigation and were able to quickly identify an employee as the suspected perpetrator. The 43-year-old is said to have passed on a large number of fake deliveries to various providers during his service as key account manager. The stolen smartphones were then sold on to mobile phone shops.
Reason: huge gambling addiction
This resulted in a total damage of almost one million euros. During the interrogation, the suspect immediately confessed. He stated that he wanted to use the money he had stolen to fund his massive gambling addiction.
