A 38-year-old attacked two men with a combat knife in front of a bar in Vienna’s Neubaugurtel on Sunday evening. One of the two suffered a stab wound to the upper body, the other was injured in the hand. The attacker was arrested after a brief escape.
Before the knife attack took place, the 38-year-old Moroccan had accused several guests at a bar of stealing his mobile phone. Shortly afterwards, the argument moved outside, where a scuffle broke out between the 38-year-old and the restaurant owner.
A guest went between the opponents, after which the Moroccan allegedly wounded them both with a combat knife. The guest suffered a stab wound to his upper body and the restaurant owner suffered a cut on his hand.
Both injured people received emergency medical attention on the spot from Vienna’s professional rescue service and were then taken to a hospital. The alleged perpetrator was arrested by police officers on Goldschlagstrasse as he fled.
