There must have been scenes that looked like something from an action movie in Absam on Monday night! A 41-year-old local woman quickly fled in her car from a vehicle checkpoint on the Inntal highway. Moments later the handcuffs clicked.
The police officers and the 41-year-old will probably remember Monday evening for a long time. The local woman was pulled out of traffic during a vehicle check in Absam around 7 p.m. She probably didn’t like this at all and stepped on the accelerator.
The police could only get to safety by jumping out of the way and immediately gave chase. The fugitive sped along the Inntal highway towards Innsbruck, with several police patrols in tow. Shortly after the Wilten Tunnel, she was finally stopped and arrested at the emergency lane at the Innsbruck West junction.

“The woman will be reported to the Innsbruck Public Prosecutor’s Office on suspicion of attempted resistance and to the Innsbruck district administration for various violations of the StVO,” the investigators said.
