Maria Rechberger (69) has lived on Ingenieur-Etzelstrasse in Linz for forty years, and her neighbor Roswitha Schoiswohl (69) has also lived for twenty years – but the two women are currently at their wits’ end. The reason: her house stinks – in the truest sense of the word.
“There has been disgusting garbage under the stairs for weeks,” the tenant told the “Krone” during a local inspection. “The railings are finicky, they make you shudder. When cleaning the stairs, water is poured at the top and then runs down everywhere,” Schoiswohl continues. The tenants of the complex have been complaining to the property manager, the BWSG, for weeks. “We never reach anyone, we are not called and the manager only gives stupid answers and is rude,” says Schoiswohl angrily.
Property management does not believe the tenants
‘I feel like they want to disgust us and get rid of us. First they put the railway line closer to our houses, now there is the highway (the Westring, mind you),” she says. But she definitely doesn’t want to move because the apartment is her home. The “Krone” asked the property management company – and lo and behold, at least the trash was gone within a few hours.
But you don’t want to believe the tenants: “After consultation with the responsible property manager, the representation is incorrect,” the statement says. The facility is maintained in accordance with contractual obligations.
