Painful accident in a production hall in Althofen, Carinthia: While working on a conveyor belt, a 51-year-old woman got stuck in the stomach area by a 50-kilogram wooden plate and was injured.
Together with a colleague, the 51-year-old shift worker was working on wooden panels manually with a machine on Friday morning around 2:40 am. Once completed, the “workpieces” are finally transported on a conveyor belt to the next station. However, in this case, further transportation ended in a painful accident.
Colleague didn’t notice
The colleague (48) had not noticed that the 51-year-old from the St. Veit district was still in the danger zone: the 50-kilogram wooden plate suddenly started to move and trapped the worker. After the first treatment, the woman was taken to the Friesach Hospital with injuries of an undetermined nature.
