It was not a quiet morning for the emergency services at the main fire station in Villach: at nine o’clock a serious traffic accident was reported in which one person was trapped. A coach collided with a taxi.
The Villach main fire station responded to the accident site on Steinwenderstrasse on Sunday with five vehicles and 25 emergency services. Here a taxi turning from Tiroler Straße collided with a fully occupied bus. “Luckily no one was trapped in the vehicles. The driver of the taxi was able to get out of the vehicle independently, but had to be taken to the Villach LKH after first aid from the rescue service and the emergency doctor,” says Harald Geissler, commander of the Villach main fire station. All bus passengers were unharmed.
Bumper has been removed
The badly damaged taxi had to be removed from the road with so-called shunting scooters. The car was picked up by a private towing service. The bumper of the coach had to be removed so that it could continue driving safely. It is not yet known how the accident could have happened.
