The snow masses in Tyrol were not only a disaster for drivers and a snow plow on Saturday. During a walk with his father (51), a 20-year-old Tyrolean was struck by a tree that fell under the weight of the white splendor. He was taken to the clinic.
The serious incident took place at 7:45 am. Father and son were walking along a community path in Ampass (Innsbruck-Land district) when they both heard a cracking sound. “They noticed that a tree was in danger of falling onto the road due to the weight of the snow,” police said.
Father sounded the alarm
The 51-year-old was able to pull over just in time. “However, the 20-year-old was struck by the tree and trapped under a guardrail.” His father immediately raised the alarm and alerted rescuers. After the first treatment, the 20-year-old was admitted to the clinic in Innsbruck. The Ampass volunteer fire brigade, the rescue service and a police patrol were present.
