According to the government in Moscow, Russian air defenses shot down a total of 41 Ukrainian drones overnight and Tuesday morning.
26 of the drones were destroyed over Russian territory and another 15 were intercepted over the Sea of Azov and the Crimean Peninsula.
The ministry does not comment on whether damage was caused by the attack or by falling debris.

Drones have two main advantages: their costs are significantly lower compared to rockets, and their potential applications are diverse. This makes them suitable for reconnaissance purposes, equipped with cameras, but also for offensive operations by loading them with explosives.
They can not only scout and attack soldier positions and technology at the front, but also reach targets far in the enemy’s rear. Due to their relatively low cost, drones can also be used in swarms to attack targets together.
