Only one supervisor was allowed, the already stressed parents were told. “I am 38 weeks pregnant, a high-risk pregnancy. That is why I explained to the staff there that I would like my husband to come with me,” says Elvira M. (28) about the experience in the children’s clinic.
He found a sequel in the waiting room. Because both parents had small patients. “When I asked how that was possible, a sister told me, ‘They must have cheated.’” The wait became an ordeal. The two-year-old screamed and vomited. “He hung on my stomach all the time. I was completely desperate,” says the mother. It turned out that Edin had middle ear infections in both ears.

At home, the mother had to realize that the father had been wrongly rejected. “The website states that both parents may accompany minors.” A hospital spokeswoman confirms this: “We deeply regret the incident. The complaint will be investigated. And we will make the employees aware again.”
