attempted homicide! Police and prosecutors believe that the 52-year-old Syrian who stabbed his wife on Oberen Donaulände in Linz, near the bridge’s construction site, agreed to kill her as well. As is known, the two children (two and eleven years old) had to watch the bloody deed.
witnesses intervened
They also saw brave Witnesses pushing their father away from the mother as he stood over her with a Stanley knife, beat her and stabbed her in the neck and face with the knife. The witnesses managed to get the attacker to release his victim, presumably saving the life of the 42-year-old stateless person.
The fact that there happened to be an ambulance at the crime scene was a stroke of luck: the paramedics were able to properly treat the life-threatening injuries. In the hospital, the doctors were able to completely avert the danger to life. But the victim has yet to be questioned.
Removed the Stanley knife from the backpack
During the interrogation, the Syrian confirmed that he had assaulted his wife during the argument – alcohol was not a factor. At home the quarrel had already started – the family lives not far from the crime scene – then they went out together, the situation calmed down for a while, only to get completely out of hand. Finally, the Syrian took the Stanley knife from his backpack and stabbed him angrily.
