The 79-year-old, who was attacked in her apartment in Vienna last week, has died. According to police, the woman succumbed to her injuries, which were apparently inflicted on her by beatings.
The robbery took place on Thursday morning in Bandgasse in the Neubau district. The perpetrators had gained access to the woman’s apartment and then apparently beat the 79-year-old multiple times. The retiree suffered head, face and wrist injuries. The perpetrators fled.
The woman’s daughter started the rescue chain and also alerted the police. The seriously injured 79-year-old was taken to hospital. She succumbed to her injuries on Tuesday evening, police said.
The investigations are continuing at full speed. The board is also asking for information and any witnesses to come forward.
