Video released – Gaza: Dozens of terrorists arrested in hospital

Date:

Israeli soldiers say they have arrested dozens of terrorists around the Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza Strip. The army released images on Thursday showing armed Palestinian men leaving the hospital with their hands raised. Photos and videos showed several bare-chested men holding weapons above their heads and then dropping them along with their equipment.

Israeli forces, working with domestic intelligence agency Shin Bet, had earlier located a building near the hospital used in recent days by terrorists from the militant Palestinian organization Hamas, a statement said. The army also found weapons during the operation.

About seventy men arrested
In total, about seventy men surrendered and were handed over to an army intelligence unit and the Israeli security authority after the arrests. The Army information cannot be independently verified at this time.

The images distributed by the army were reminiscent of images from last week showing Palestinians arrested in the Gaza Strip in their underwear. The images caused outrage at the time. According to Israeli military experts, it must be ruled out that suicide bombers with explosive belts are among those arrested.

Hanukkah songs over mosque speakers
Images of Israeli soldiers singing Hanukkah songs and the most important Jewish prayer, Shema Yisrael, over loudspeakers at a mosque in Jenin in the West Bank also caused discontent.

The soldiers were immediately released by their commanders after viewing the videos and an initial investigation into the incidents, Israeli newspaper Haaretz quoted an army spokesman as saying. “The soldiers’ behavior is serious and completely contrary to the values of the Israeli army. The soldiers will be disciplined accordingly.”

Israel offers bounties for Hamas leaders
Eyewitnesses say the Israeli army is offering Gaza residents money for information about Hamas leaders. Accordingly, the army is distributing leaflets offering, among other things, $400,000 (about €366,000) for information about the head of the Islamic organization in the Gaza Strip, Yahya Zinwar.

The army is offering $300,000 (almost 275,000 euros) for his brother Mohammed Zinwar and $100,000 (almost 92,000 euros) for Mohammed Deif, the commander of Hamas’s armed wing, the Qassam Brigades. The leadership of the Islamist-Palestinian organization has been at the top of Israel’s hit list since the Oct. 7 massacre.

GB: Access restrictions for radical settlers
Meanwhile, British Foreign Secretary David Cameron announced entry restrictions for radical Israeli settlers. By attacking and killing Palestinian civilians, extremist settlers are undermining the stability and security of both Israelis and Palestinians, Cameron said on the X short message service on Thursday.

Israel must do more to stop settler violence and hold perpetrators accountable. “We are banning those responsible for settler violence from entering the UK,” Cameron announced.
