A 30-year-old from Schlierbach crashed into a shock absorber at the Ried im Traunkreis motorway exit (Upper Austria) on Friday at 1:30 am. The car overturned and landed on its roof. Firefighters rescued the injured man, who had a blood alcohol level of 1.36.
The 30-year-old was driving a fire brigade minibus on the Pyhrnautobahn A9 towards Wels when he collided with the shock absorber. His car overturned and came to rest on its roof.
45 helpers on duty
The fire brigades of Voitsdorf and Inzersdorf were present with a total of 45 men and seven vehicles. They rescued the crash driver from the car and he was taken to hospital with unknown injuries.
The steering wheel had 1.36 per mille
An alcohol test carried out showed a value of 1.36 per mille. The A9 was closed at the accident location until 3.50 am and a diversion was put in place.
