The hours-long search for a missing person in Upper Austria ended with sad certainty on Saturday. The 69-year-old was found dead in a stream bed. An autopsy is now being performed on the body.
Around 4:30 am the fire brigade was called for a search in Tiefgraben near Mondsee. Search dogs and drones were also deployed on Saturday morning to quickly find the missing woman.
Crash while walking
But in the end it was the firefighters who walked through the areas with poor visibility and also checked the flow bottom of the Zeller Ache. Here they found the missing person after about two hours of searching. But all help came too late. The 69-year-old fell during a night walk near the Zeller Ache.
There are currently no indications of foul play, but the Welsh public prosecutor’s office has ordered an autopsy.
