A particularly serious crime took place in Brixen im Thale on Saturday morning. An unknown pickpocket stole cash and an 89-year-old woman’s debit card. The damage is enormous.
The nasty scam happened around 10:30 am in the parking lot of a supermarket in Brixen. There, the unknown perpetrator managed to steal money amounting to a three-digit euro amount and the debit card from the local woman’s jacket pocket.
Large amount immediately fixed
It didn’t take long before the perpetrator used the stolen card to withdraw money from an ATM. A five-digit euro amount fell into her hands. It is still unclear how the crook obtained the PIN code of the debit card. Investigations are underway.
