He failed to place the brake shoe under the wheels of the trailer to slow it down. The trailer started moving and the man became trapped between the excavator and the trailer. The victim was rescued by the excavator operator and two witnesses to the incident. The rescue chain was immediately set in motion.
Succumbed to the injuries
The emergency doctor and the Friesach rescue service provided the man with first aid. He was then taken to the Friesach Hospital with serious injuries, where he subsequently died from his injuries.
