While trying to pump air into a tire, a 58-year-old from Linz had already fallen twice at a gas station in Traun. An attentive gas station employee prevented the car from driving by alerting the police. The alcoholic driver stated that he wanted to drive home anyway.
An employee at a gas station in Traun saw a strange sight on Monday at 11 p.m.: While he was trying to inflate his right front tire, a 58-year-old from Linz had already fallen over twice. Because she suspected that alcohol was involved, she immediately called the police.
The officers found the man from Linz sitting in his car, apparently heavily drunk. During the investigation, the 58-year-old also indicated that he wanted to go home to Linz.
Caught with 2.1 per mille
Because the alcohol test found 2.1 per mille in the driver’s blood, the officials naturally did not agree with this. After the police doctor determined that he was not fit to drive, the man from Linz was banned from driving and his keys and driver’s license were confiscated on the spot.
